How to make GOD laugh?

How to make GOD laugh? This is a question that no one has an answer. Perhaps there would be or would have been a situation in everyone’s life which might look trivial but it has serious repercussions on the way you think and act. I repeat the same question just to reinforce the effect of the answer that follows after the question.

How to make GOD laugh?

Tell HIM your plans about your life.

After reading the answer I am sure that you will have a sweet smile on your face. “Man proposes GOD disposes”, a common proverb used by mankind when they believe that things are out of order. Our interpretation of “Going out of order” is that an event has happened in a way that you have not expected it to happen. Another question that comes in this juncture is “Why it should happen in the way that we expect it to happen?”

Bhagavad-Gita establishes the fact that whatever happens to us, happens for our good. If GOD destines the action to be good then why it is different from what we expect, after all we expect only good things to happen to us. The universal truth of KARMA holds extremely valid here. There have been greats in the field of philosophy who have mastered the art of karma and they are believed to be free from the cycle of life. Destiny defines mankind. The same destiny creates extremities like Swami Vivekananda and Adolf Hitler. A popular saying indicates that

“Whatever you do, if you are not destined to get, you will not get in spite of my grace,
Whatever you do, you will get what you are destined to get in spite of me stopping it.”

So as KARMA indicates every being in this Mother earth is tied by the effect of “Samskaras” which is nothing but the IMPRESSIONS created on them. These impressions are due to the needs, wants and wishes enjoyed and yearned by every being.

So what’s the solution that GOD gives us for this confusion?. At a point in Bhagavad-Gita, Arjuna says to Lord Krishna that is getting confused with too much of details that the Lord has been telling him in the battle field. Lord Krishna replies to him

Yathanam…Prayathanam…Deivathanam

Yathanam indicates that the plot or the plan for the action. Prayathanam indicates the efforts that are taken for the plan to succeed. Lord indicates that the first two are in the hands of the human being or the creator whereas the final or the third one is in the hands of the creator’s Creator. A flower which blossoms in the morning does not know that it is spreading fragrance to the world nor it knows that its life is only upto that evening. That is indicated as the perfect example by the Lord for the above mentioned lines. When our efforts go in vain we repent or feel bad but we forget to realize the reason for the failure.

We all try to reach godliness in every step without our conscience. The best possible path seems to be always difficult but that can be the only path with the truth.

God save us all.

Al pacino, Godfather of Hollywood

“I am going to make him an offer that he cannot refuse!!”.

This is a dialogue that explicitly shows the character of the “Godfather”. A wonderful story with a Sicilian forefront written my Mario Puzo, runs around a character called Don vito corleone. It is still one of the extraordinary crime novels of all time. Mario Puzo, an American by birth brought in this novel the dry pastoral beauty of Sicily and contrastingly different mafia kingdom developing in the period of 1945 -1955.

The first time I saw Al pacino was in this movie where he takes the role of Michael Coreleone, Son of Vito corleone. I am not a big critic of movies, but the moment I saw him in this movie there was an inherent attraction for me to watch more of his acting. There was a real charisma in his acting even as he donned the serious role of a head of a mafia family.

Alfred James Pacino, had a unsuccessful career in the 1960s but still he was under the tutoring of some age old actors of Hollywood. Francis ford Cappola, the Director of the Godfather trilogy realized his talent in the 1971 movie of “The panic in the Needle Park” where Al pacino’s acting as a heroin addict was impeccable. This movie earned him an academy award nomination. Godfather II and III were released in 1974 and 1990 repectively. The second part gained him an Oscar for a Best actor and was also a box office hit. The third part made a moderate fortune in the box office too.

Apart from the Godfather series, the other movies that gained him fame were

a. Dog day afternoon
b. Scarface
c. ..And Justice for All
d. Dick Tracy
e. Glengarry Glen Ross
f. Scent of a Woman
g. Angels in America

In one of the interviews of his costars, I have seen them telling that while he acts he tells many dialogues that might not be present in the script. Perhaps this might be the common attribute between the acting marvels like Al pacino, Kamalhaasan, SivajiGanesan, Nagesh who have defined a new trend of acting in the world of cinema.

Osc AR rahman..

An old wish was fulfilled by the “Mozart of Madras” on 22nd February, 2009. An Indian musician receiving the Oscar(s) in the Kodak theatre was the first in the history of India.

The movie Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle bagged 8 oscars out of its 10 nominations for the day. The word “Phenomenal” would be apt for such a performance. AR Rahman received 2 oscars for Best original musical score and Best song for “Jai Ho” along with Mr.Gulzar. Every fan of ARR knows that Slumdog’s music was not his best. A tag of “HOLLYWOOD” is needed to move into the oscar race since for other national movies there are no category open other than “Best foreign language film”. I am an ardent fan of his music and I liked atleast one song in all of his movies. I cannot list out everything but these are some his grand masterpieces to the Tamil cinema

a. Roja – Tamizha tamizha, Pudhu vellai mazhai
b. Kaadhalan – Ennavale adi ennavale
c. Jeans – Kannodu kaanbathellam
d. Iruvar – Narumugaiye
e. Thriuda thiruda – Rasathy, Thee thee, chandralekha
f. Vandicholai chinnarasu – Senthamizh
g. Pavithra – Uyirum neeye
h. May maadham – Enmel Vizhuntha
i. Karuthamma – Thenkizhakku seemaiyile
j. Duet – All songs
k. Bombay – Humma humma, Uyire
l. Indian – Thada,
m. Padayappa - vetri kodi kattu
n. Alaipayuthey – Endrendrum punnagai, Snsgithane
o. Kandukonden kandukonden – Kannamoochi, Yenna solla pogirai
p. Paarthale paravasam – Azhage sugama
q. Boys – All songs
r. New – Kaalaiyil thinamum, Aaraikodi
s. Sivaji – Sahana

The list does not complete here. Bollywood has also been lucky enough to have his music which includes Ashutosh Gowariker, Aamir Khan, Subhash Ghai, notable film makers as big fans of AR Rahman. These film makers book him for every movie they make and of course ARR doesn’t disappoint them.

All of us have been through this wonderful phase of college in our lives. Life after these days don`t seem to seem to have a big change ( since i am a student now) except for the fact that everyone is running behind their worlds... The indian IT industry has been considerate enough to pick good nos from my class 0f 2004, giving a chance for some to be the same even after the 4 yrs with a few exceptions like me. It has been more than two yrs now and I am in regular contact only with a few .(sorry ,for not taking any efforts to have contacts with the rest...) A few friends have really taken efforts to arrange regular tours and get togethers, but most of them ended in vain becoz many din`t turn up...Even though I crib for finding time to these events I love to be with my friends on such occasions...A small regular recap of these occasions would be helpful for an everlasting relationship.(Over feelings..pa)

Being a student is the most wonderful thing in the world....but certainly not an MBA student. Getting screwed up is one of the most normal activity in a B school. But in the past few days i am having a good time in the class.

Currently,I am attending a class on Marketing Management by Prof.Paul Prabhaker. He is from Illinois Institute of Technology,Chicago.I just had a brief intro about him from the passedouts. But he has proved that he is a class apart in our sessions. He had a wonderful technique of putting everything in its simplest form ever possible .He encourages questions of any kind.He is a doctorate in Marketing and of course the IIT,IIM Brand still works out.Had a wonderful time being in his class .Surprised to see how informative a man could be with a great deal of modesty .

Had a good time writing my first blog...Hope its not too boring..If its so,I will try to post something better
